Iterations: Blue 1130

Iterations: Blue 1130
ink and watercolor on paper

I imagine a rainbow made only of blue spread across a bluer sky.

I’m not one to agree with Keats. I end up always believing that any rainbow unweaved, is in fact a new rainbow created. Mysteries like color and sensation are by their nature unconquerable and knowing more about them seems to me the pursuit of lovers.

Revelation too is the moment when a new world is created, and if serpents lurk amongst us, one certainly wants to know of them before they know of us.

And so, my drawings turn to forms filtered out of the world and its colors. Air, sky, water and earth — each a machine churning in the mind. Attempts at filling Lamia’s empty eyes?
